PROCESS TECHNOLOGIES COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTIONS THERMAL ECHANGE THERMAL EXCHANGE LTD PROVIDES PROCESS COOLING & TEMPERATURE CONTROL SOLUTIONS Our design team are experts in the fields of process temperature control, heat transfer and refrigeration and can provide customers with cost effective solutions to a wide range of process cooling and temperature control problems. From car production plants, laboratories and hospital operating theatres to the pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries, there is a broad range of applications Thermal Exchange can satisfy. Moreover, our products are supported by the knowledge gained through many successful installations since beginning business in 1982. At Thermal Exchange we understand the importance of personal contact and you can be sure that we will make every effort to fully understand your application before making our recommendation. If you have a process temperature control problem and need an effective and reliable solution, then we’d like to hear from you. The following products represent our key areas of expertise. INDUSTRIAL CHILLERS Our UltraChill industrial chillers are refrigerated process cooling systems suitable for a wide range of applications. Cooling outputs range from 0.89 kW up to 163.2 kW at working temperatures from –20 up to 30 °C in ambient conditions from -15 up to 55 °C. Typical temperature control stability is +/-2°C with +/-0.5°C available on request. The UltraChill range are robust, dependable workhorses that provide a reliable supply of process coolant at constant temperature and pressure. Housings are made from galvanized steel and externally coated with epoxy resin, thus providing corrosion protection against the harshest of environments. Typical Applications: HF Generators • Resistance welding machines • Lasers • Autoclaves • MRI scanners • Beverage Industry • Vapour degreasing • Digital printing • Pharmaceutical • Laser sorting • Induction heating • Food industry • Dairy 156 PECM Issue 35 AB Air Blast Box coolers are supplied as complete factory assembled and tested units and are suitable for indoor or outdoor applications. They are completely closed circuit and independent of mains, with negligible water loss, and only minimal maintenance is required to ensure long and trouble-free operation. LABORATORY CHILLERS Our CS range of air-cooled refrigerated laboratory chillers provides cooling outputs up to 8.5 kW with coolant temperatures from 5 to 25 ⁰C in ambient conditions from 5 to 35 ⁰C. CS laboratory chillers provide the perfect environmental solution to the wasteful and costly practice of once-through tap water cooling. The CS range are low noise in operation and attractively packaged in a compact, sturdy casework finished in two tone grey. No unit exceeds 715 mm in width and the addition of castors makes even the largest CS85 easily manoeuvrable between laboratories. The entry level CS laboratory chillers come with an impressive array of features fitted as standard. Digital temperature control provides simple adjustment, visual display and control stability to +/-0.75 ⁰C, whilst +/-0.1 ⁰C stability is provided as an option. Safety interlocks include low coolant level, high coolant temperature and high/low gas pressure warning. Typical Applications: Sputtering equipment • Chemical vapour deposition • MRI • Gas Chromatography • Electron Microscopes • X-Ray • Lasers • Rotary Evaporators • Vacuum Pumps AIR-BLAST BOX COOLERS Our non-refrigerated range of AB Air Blast Box coolers have many advantages over mains water or open tower cooling and provide an ideal method of maintaining suitable working temperatures in many process applications. Typically, they are designed to remove heat from processes where the coolant temperature is approximately 10°C to 20°C higher than ambient. Applications Resistance Welding Machines • High Frequency Generators • Furnace Equipment • X-Ray Devices • Air Compressors • General Process Cooling WATER TO LIQUID HEAT EXCHANGE UNITS These are self-contained systems with heat exchanger, coolant storage tank and pump. Our water to liquid exchangers utilise chilled house water to remove heat from the process coolant via a liquid to liquid exchanger. They provide a barrier thus protecting your process coolant from potentially harmful cooling water that may be contaminated by corrosion, bacteria, or may simply not be compatible i.e. ultra-pure deionised water, oil or other heat transfer fluids. Our water to liquid exchangers provides process coolant at constant temperature and pressure thus ensuring your process remains at optimum performance. Typical temperature control stability is +/-1°C with +/-0.5°C available on request. OEM BESPOKE SYSTEMS In addition to our standard range of products we can provide custom designed systems. From a simple brief, we can rapidly progress to a 3D SolidWorks model followed by a working prototype. As well as simple water chilling systems, we can design for other fluids, including ultra-pure deionised water, transformer oil & perfluorocarbon. www.thermalexchange.co.uk
