SULZER UNVEILS 2018 INTERN PROGRAM
Investment in new staff is very important
for the continued success of a company.
It is essential to find the most suitable
prospects to train and set on the road to a
career in engineering.
Each year, Sulzer takes on a number of
carefully selected interns to experience
the day-to-day processes of repairing
turbomachinery.
As one of the world’s leading providers of
maintenance and repair solutions, Sulzer is
keen to maintain its excellent knowledge
base and prepare talented engineering
students for the transition into their
professional lives.
The company’s internship program is a
demanding process where the interns get
first-hand experience in what it takes to
repair and service rotating equipment.
Jennifer Gaines, Mechanical Design
Engineer at Sulzer, explains: “The program
runs for 12-weeks during the summer
and involves working closely with shop

mechanics, machinists and technicians.
Once they have the basics mastered, the
interns are given an engineering project
that is based on the skills they have
acquired in the shop.”
Prospective interns can expect to learn
valuable skills and processes involved in
the repair of turbines, compressors, motors,
generators and pumps, while Sulzer has
the opportunity to discover promising
new engineers that can become full-time
employees.
The Sulzer summer intern program
will be running on a regular basis,
offering students the chance to develop
commercial experience within an
engineering environment.
Sulzer will be visiting universities to
promote the program; however, if you’d
like to learn more about this opportunity,
please get in touch with Sulzer to find out
how to apply.
