Whilst we were at the event it was amazing to see how manufacturing is developing within the UK and we were in awe of the technology and products on display. Are you Britain’s best manufacturer? EEF, The Manufacturers’ Organisation is on the hunt to find Britain’s best manufacturers and has launched their 2018 annual future manufacturing awards, designed to find Britain’s unsung manufacturing heroes and most outstanding apprentices. The closing date for entries is on the 29th of June so if you want to enter make sure you visit the EEF website for more details. In this edition on pages 20-21 we have a brilliant article from the Technical Associates Group giving us an insight into artificial intelligence and how it is being applied across key industrial sectors, resulting in smarter factories and how it’s helping manufacturers make sense of streams of data. We’re now just 5 weeks away from Subcon where our publication will be on display. Subcon is the UK’s premier subcontracting, manufacturing and supply chain event. The show brings together the contract manufacturing community with intense networking, learning and collaborations over three days at the NEC Birmingham which is widely regarded as a must attend event. If you’re a new reader of PECM then welcome, and we hope you enjoy the read. Antony Antony Holter - Editor in Chief Issue 32 PECM 3
