The order situation remained very stable (plus 14% to 976 million Euros and a book-to-bill rate of 1.16). For the full year of 2017 companies registered with the Fachverband Bauelemente Distribution (www.FBDi.de) in Germany reported a sales plus of 12% to 3.6 billion Euros and incoming orders of 3.91 billion Euros – a record result. Apart from shortage and price increases 2017 was further affected by fluctuations in exchange rates (Dollar/Euro), which nearly compensated across all quarters. FBDi expects a solid but not groundbreaking year 2018. As a result, samples of the hose were supplied to the Heraeus Applications Centre in Neston, Wirral, where successful trials were carried out to devise an infra-red system. Riley Surface World is one of the world’s leading resellers of new and used surface finishing plant and machinery. The company has been trading since 1966 and operates from 5000 square metre premises in Aldridge, West Midlands, UK. WES Group announces the introduction of the company’s portable DosingCube™. The system was eventually installed on the Jaguar production line at the hose-fitting location. It consists of a floor-standing alu- minium framework, containing a controllable 4.8 kW heater zone, made up of two heater modules, each fitted with four 600W short wave emitters. The certification assessment programme was overseen by Riley site director Dave Smith, who has a strong background in the imple- mentation and monitoring of ISO standards. www.heraeus-infraredsolutions.co.uk 0151 353 2710 0151 353 2719 122 PECM Issue 32 In recent years, Riley has invested heavily in technology and people in order to become a global force in the surface finishing industry.
