PPMA Show Fanuc Robots Collaborate with Each Other! Tot xhi itio Septe e i St i d h FANUC will take robotic safety a further leap into the future at the show. A collaborative robot, designed for working safely with human colleagues, will be challenged to work alongside a caged cell containing a conventional robot. In the conventional cell which is open on two sides, FANUC’s Dual Check Safety (DCS) technology is combined with a safety scanner and safety camera. The robot slows down to a safe speed as humans approach the cell, but will only stop when a hand moves into the cell itself, allowing maximum productivity. When a human intruder penetrates the safety system, the robot in the cell will likewise react if the CR35iA 35kg collaborative robot gets too close. T: +44 2476 518 449 s es c co k ce adi Automation, a Company within the adi Group, have recently completed an S88 compliant Batch project for Mondelez at their DAIM factory in Sweden. DAIM is an international brand for which demand has increased considerably over the years. The replacement of an ageing control system gave Mondelez an opportunity to re-assess the benefits of delivering a standard model approach. This will be replicated elsewhere across the Group but is already yielding benefits at the tockholm factory t ill see furt her benefits as the merging of compliant batch data is combined with product rack and race capability through to finished product. The innovative design using a high accuracy PID sensor has reduced production costs considerably compared to other methods and this re ects in the highly competitive price point for this unit. vailable for portable or fi ed monitoring, the compact size of the unit in con unction ith the mm uick connect inlet simplifies installation and the commissioning is very quick due to the easy to use touchscreen controls. he interfaces easily ith existing plant systems with communication options including 4-20mA, SDI, RS485, Modbus/RTU and relay outputs in addition to the USB output for the logged data. Calibration can be achieved simply and cost effectively by the user through the supply of pre-calibrated exchange sensors that are easy to swap and remove the need for the whole unit to be disconnected and returned. This saves time and where monitoring needs to be continuous, the need for a complete standby unit to replace the original while away being calibrated.
