Jury in on isolation Expert Adam Jury delivers the verdict on isolation dampers Manual butterfly isolation dampers I ndustry expert Adam Jury has stepped into a technical sales role at specialist air filtration company ir Filtration. Arriving with 25 years’ experience in the nuclear and oil and gas industries he is well placed to drive forward the company’s increasing specialisation in filtration for high end, sensitive ventilation systems, in particular HEPA housings and isolation dampers. Jury has worked with other UK damper manufacturers and, coming latterly from Wozair, is experienced in a wide range of industry standard damper 10 PECM Issue 19 products. Having been involved with several research and development projects creating new damper formats, he is now excited to be working with M C Air Filtration at the cutting edge of the technology as the market leaders in the manufacture of standard and bespoke high integrity isolation dampers suitable for use in a wide range of critical ventilation and process applications. He explains “There are many similarities bet een the offshore oilgas industry and the nuclear world, in particular the need to isolate explosive atmospheres and radioactive contaminants, and where zero leakage is not only desirable but the essential end-game”. Critical ventilation applications commonly need a safe system whereby the associated pre and or filters can be replaced in isolation, either to protect the environment and the operators from toxic or active particles present in the air stream, or to protect the process from contamination by outside air o affect these filter changes safely while allowing critical systems to continue to operate, each filter system must be indi idually isolated.
