IMAGINEERING –
Investing in Engineers
of Tomorrow
I
magineering, an independent
education charity run by
enthusiastic engineers, is
encouraging children to pursue a
career in engineering, establishing valuable
links between education and manufacturing
organisations across the UK.
Opportunities for industry to inspire and
inform young people about the career
opportunities in engineering include
support for weekly Imagineering Clubs in
schools, stands at Imagineering events
or companies’ own branded events with
Imagineering projects.
Imagineering delivers the essence of
engineering and technology in a practical
way. Manufacturing and engineering
organisations are able to influence and take
an active role in developing the relevant
skills in the young engineers of the future by
helping to deliver fun hands-on Imagineering
activities to inspire 8-16 year olds.
Company support for Imagineering Clubs
includes providing engineers as volunteer
tutors and valuable role models. Children
learn practical skills, how to use tools
and make working models with real life
applications. They also gain knowledge and
an appreciation of modern engineering and
technology.
Organisations taking stands at Imagineering
Fairs and events have the opportunity to
engage with youngsters and their families
with their own specially-developed activity
reflecting their own companies’ modern
technology. Alternatively Imagineering
also delivers some of its special hands-on
projects at companies’ own events.
Imagineering and its partners and
stakeholders are enabling children today to
be creative, inventive and technically able,
with the right skills, to support UK industry
in a future increasingly competitive world.
