ATEX approved Mechanical HandTachometer of RHEINTACHO gets Class I approval for Zone 1 Mining Applications O ur proven ATEX version of the mechanical hand-Tachometer has moved on to the next level of application – Class I. RHEINTACHO UK successfully took on the challenge of getting this approval. This enables many new additional applications in ATEX class Zone 1 and 2 areas. The certification is valid from 18 November 2015. New ATEX Class I approved mechanical handtachometer HTM Mindful of the need to operate tachometers in areas where there is a risk of explosive atmospheres due to either dust particles or gas, our engineers have carried out modifications to enable this version to be certified for use in ATEX Zones 1 and 2 for use in all gas groups with a temperature class of T4 also being without compromising the capability of the original design. This certificate approves the use in underground mining applications. The use is intended for short term observation and measurement, not for continuous operation. The ATEX HTM measures rotational or linear speed using the special contact adaptors supplied. With no need for batteries, it has the safety and flexibility to satisfy the most demanding requirements for maintenance and calibration. The reference numbers: EX II 2 G D C II C T4, I M2 c Easily identified by its yellow ergonomically designed casing, the ATEX HTM is available in four models and is supplied in a hard plastic carrying case complete with a set of adaptors: HTM-100M (A3-5100): 10 - 10,000 rpm / 1 – 1,000 m/min HTM-500M (A3-5500): 30 - 50,000 rpm / 3 – 5,000 m/min HTM-100F (A3-5110): 10 - 10,000 rpm / 5 – 5,000 ft/min HTM-500F (A3-5510): 30 - 50,000 rpm / 15 - 25,000 ft/min For further information please contact us. www.rheintacho.com 72 PECM Issue 18 RHEINTACHO UK Ltd, a subsidiary of the German company RHEINTACHO Messtechnik GmbH, is specialized in the production of non-electronic measurement and indication instruments as well as tacho generators, and acts as a sales and service center for the UK and Ireland.
