The Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Show returns
to Manchester’s EventCity from September 30th to 1st
October 2015. Now in its third year, the show brings
together a blend of regional companies and world-class
manufacturers under one roof, creating a show with a
particular resonance with the North’s substantial process
engineering activities
S
ituated in the heart of
Manchester, the show
has quickly become
established as the most
important in the North for engineering
and manufacturing. As well as the
region’s hugely important aerospace,
automotive and public transportation
manufacturing industry, the North
is also a key area for Food &
Beverage and Pharmabio processing.
Consequently, many of the suppliers
exhibiting at EventCity have particular
expertise in this area.
Some of the more recognisable names
exhibiting include Kuka Robotics,
BAE Systems, igus UK, Kabelschlepp
Metool, Olympus and Nikon. They
are joined by hundreds of other
suppliers, ranging from electronic
components, sensors, displays and
machine safety hardware vendors, to
fasteners, hydraulic couplings, springs
and power transmission components.
Small consumables on show include
fasteners, industrial adhesives, oils and
cleaning products amongst thousands
of others.
The show also hosts live
demonstrations by many of the world’s
leading machinery and equipment
manufacturers, such as Amada, Mazak,
Haas, TPS Weldtech, Bystronic, Trumpf,
Trotec Laser and many others. Having
the latest machinery gathered together
in one easy-access venue makes
it very straightforward to compare
features and specifications in a single
visit. Aside from the machinery, there’s
also an enormous range of production
and maintenance equipment to see
too, such as sensing and measurement
equipment from firms such as Keyance
and Testo, cleaning solutions from
Ultrawave and MecWash, and even
industrial fixtures and fittings from
Kanya, Bondline, SSI Schaeffer and
Trestron.
Subcontracting is also a primary
focus of the event, with a huge range
of services in show from electronics
manufacture and assembly, to
fabrication, precision engineering and
Northern
Manufacturing
also boasts an impressive free
technical seminar programme
running over both days
specialist surface finishes. Firms like
Jenks & Cattell, Orbital Fabrications
and Zot Engineering are just a few
names out of the hat. As well as wellestablished local suppliers, Northern
Manufacturing also attracts overseas
firms with particular expertise in
certain fields, such as Assel Sp. z
o.o. from Poland and AMP Rose (P)
one of the world’s foremost suppliers
of confectionary manufacturing and
packaging machines.
Northern Manufacturing also boasts
an impressive free technical seminar
programme running over both days,
offering free presentations from
leading industry figures on subjects
as varied as the impact of 3D printing
in manufacturing, to opportunities
in the aerospace supply chain and
how to apply Lean lessons from the
world’s biggest manufacturers in any
production environment. A full list
