Product News PULS Launches CostEfficient DIN-Rail Power Supply Family Rugged Tablet Lockers and RFiD Tool Trolleys for Automotive PIANO has now extended the PULS product range to service new market segments. Applying new techniques and concepts from design to manufacturing, the new PIANO series offers reliability, service lifetime and efficiency figures usually only available in higher cost products. Within the Automotive Sector, processes and procedures are put in place to ensure that staff can work quickly and efficiently to maximize on vehicle turnover. Whether your business is a small service centre or a large production plant it is crucial to have tools and equipment in the right places, with the right people, at the right times so that work can be completed quickly and to a high standard. The new design achieves an MTBF of more than 1.4 million hours and efficiencies of up to 94.5% with a minimum service lifetime of typically 40,000 hours. These innovations have been made possible by a smart single-board design with cost-saving polycarbonate housing. These new supplies are purely convection-cooled and can operate from -10°C up to +70°C. Easily mounting onto any standard DIN-Rail and with large-sized terminals making installation simple and fast. Combine the simplicity and security of the iLockerz with the easy to use and automatic report generating web software and your business will get more from its equipment, team and premises within weeks. iLockerz can be used within your Automotive workplace to effectively manage Power Tools, Diagnostic Laptops, Calibrated Socket Wrenches, Spanners, Keys, Cameras, Trade Plates and any other equipment that is important to its operation. www.ilockerz.com UK pressure vessel firm adds precision tanks to range Fujikura enhances splicing products to support biomedical industries Pressure vessel producer SR-TEK has added precision pressure tanks to its ST series. Fujikura Europe, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of fibre optic cables and equipment, has used 25 years of experience in the speciality splicing sector to enhance its technologies and products, including the LAZERMaster™ and ARCMaster® series, for use in the biomedical and research industries. The reservoirs are supplied with precision air regulators and digital gauges to give the most accurate pressure setting and reading. The tanks provide an unprecedented pressure control and are particularly useful for applications requiring accurate flow rate and fluid deposits. Simon Kay, technical consultant for SR-TEK says: “The need for better accuracy in fluid deposit is now an essential process requirement to eliminate wastage and reduce rework and costs within manufacturing. This new range of precision pressure tanks will help to combat the inefficiencies of some air pressure tanks and make the whole process more effective and cost-efficient”. Fujikura’s advanced splicing technology includes high-end CO₂ laser heating systems, to enable cleaner splicing with no contamination, no electrodes for low maintenance costs and little or no instability at all. Alongside the new products Fujikura will also be providing engineering and optimisation services in specialty splicing for fibre preparation applications. These include custom hardware or software design, process improvement consultation and advanced splicer training. A typical CO₂ laser has an output power fluctuation of +/- 5 per cent which produces inconsistent splicing results and may cause irregularity and ripple in a taper profile. Fujikura’s new products for biomedical industries have a power stability feature which allows a stable laser output enabling highly repeatable processes. www.sr-tek.com www.fujikura.co.uk Hidrostal’s pump cleans carrots for consumption KDPES launches AS-6600 Accelerometer Simulator Hidrostal Ltd, renowned manufacturers of pumping products to the water industry have provided a leading fresh vegetable grower and supplier, Produce World Group, with an enhanced solution for the cleaning of carrots in the vegetable processing operation.
