Good Day Theta Rho Omega Chapter Sorors………I hope all is well with you and yours.
As Launching New Dimensions of Service winds down, there is still much AKA training, com-
munity service and general activity and preparation for all of us to do!!
Madame Supreme, Soror Dorothy Wilson Buckhanan has asked us to take a picture with the
picture of Soror Ethel Hedgeman Lyle. Then send the picture to our elected officials as a way
to continue to petition the U.S. Postal Service Stamp Selection Committee on behalf of the cre-
ation of this stamp. We still have time to get ready for and support our TRO Connections
Committee with their preparations for Illinois’ March Primary Elections—make sure You and
Yours VOTE!!
The 84 th Central Regional Conference is just around the corner—where we can avail ourselves
of several of over two dozen conference workshops that will be available. Are you registered?
Vision Quest is only 2 months away—have you lined up your ticket sales yet?
2018 Boule in Houston—heat and all--will make for a great mid-July and guess what?
Registration is now open!!
Last but certainly not least—our 50 th Anniversary Celebration is on the horizon—have you
purchased Raffle Tickets yet?—or purchased the TRO cardigan?—or joined a sub-committee??
Theta Rho Omega Sorors, remember you are the best—YOU keep your family on
Soror Jacqueline Richardson
track—YOU make a difference in our communities—YOU make the effort to spread
Basileus
positive words and deeds for our Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Targets.
Thanks to each of you For All You Do!!
Sisterly Yours In Service,
Central Regional Conference is less than two weeks away. Are you packed? Getting ready to?
Clothes folded and stacked? Hopefully your conference will be an enjoyable learning experience.
The day begins early and lasts well into the evening so be aware of your shoe selection. Include
a pair of comfortable flats. Flip flops, gym shoes, or house shoes are not acceptable in the sessions
unless you have a medical reason to wear the same.
Check the listed attire. Some outfits are required – such as white – skirt suit or dress and
white shoes - (no pants) for the first session or you will not be admitted. Business attire is recom-
mended. Athletic gear, jeans, pari, or warm-ups are not appropriate.

Program Chairman
Pari may be worn at the welcome reception Thursday night, at the Step Show, or for your free
minutes – if you have any. Philacters will be on the doors. Always wear your badge. Even to visit the vendors, a badge is re-
quired. Complete the medical information on the back of your badge and keep the badge on you at all times.
Though not formal, Saturday’s gala is a dressy affair.
A new pin and scarf will be introduced at Boule. Friday is Central Region Scarf Day.
Backpacks are still being requested.
Wear your TRO sweater to the welcome reception Thursday night.
If you can, meet a Diamond Soror. It is not often that you will meet a fellow sister who has been an AKA for seventy-five
years.
It’s a beautiful sight to see over 2000 sisters in pink and green. In Atlanta for Boule, we saw 22,000.
Don’t forget your financial card, photo I.D., and registration barcode.
Last of all, enjoy. Have a wonderful experience. Return home renewed and refreshed, reminded of why you became an
AKA, ready to share your gifts, and ready to prepare for service in a leadership capacity.
