Students Give Back Pearland ISD students spent the last few weeks of the fall semester collecting food, toys, bicycles and gift cards to donate to local organizations and families in need and helped spread cheer this holiday season. For the 10th year, Pearland Junior High East athletes collected and donated over 20 bicycles to Pearland kids. Berry Miller Junior High National Junior Honor Society raised over $3,800 for B.I.G. Love Cancer Care, a non-profit organization that provides basic necessities and other items to help pediatric cancer patients and their families feel comfortable during treatment. Some campuses participated in toy drives to brighten Christmas for area children. Dawson High School collected more than 200 toys, while Pearland Junior High South and Turner College and Career High School also donated toys to the Pearland Police Department’s Toys for Tots campaign. While these are just a few ways students gave back this holiday season, others contributed by volunteering and donating to local organizations or holding food drives to benefit the Pearland Neighborhood Center.
