Art in Action
The new year has begun with a flair for
the arts for Pearland ISD students.
Best of Show - “Say Cheese” by Anjali
Johnson, Massey Ranch Elementary
Two events, Houston Livestock Show and
Rodeo Art and Youth Art Month, have
had students breaking out their brushes
and sketchpads.
HLSR Art
Gold Medal - “King of the
Hill” - by Faith-Victoria Ni,
Pearland Junior High West
Fifteen student artists displayed their
best pieces in the Houston Livestock
Show and Rodeo’s Hayloft Gallery in
March.
The district boasted three best of show,
four gold medals and eight special
merits for the Western-themed art,
making this the highest number of art
pieces ever represented by the district at
the rodeo.
Youth Art Month

Youth Art Month.
Local businesses served as art galleries
for student art as Pearland ISD hosted its
ninth annual Youth Art Month Art Walk.
Students displayed their masterpieces
in 28 local businesses around Pearland
during the month of March. This
community-wide art gallery was open to
all art lovers.
In addition, sev eral schools throughout
the district hosted special art events such
as an art auction, family art night and art
shows.
