Dear fellow Rotarians,
All of us reach a point in our
lives when we must decide
what we want our legacy
to be. Do we want to be
remembered for the material
things we pursued or the
relationships we nurtured?
Do we want others to recall
only the cars we drove or the jobs we had when they
think of us? Will this world be better off for our having
been in it?
In Rotary, we know what legacy we are leaving for
the world. When Rotarians see a need, they meet
It will be my endeavour to see that my being in the forefront will be a value addition
to Rotary, and particularly to RID 3140.
Our efforts in this direction have begun more than two years ago. Our teams have
been formed, our leaders at various levels have been trained and motivated to
am thrilled to see the way our Presidents Elect speak during their acceptance…
their knowledge levels, their self – belief and conviction, and a deep desire and
passion to excel in this historic year… are remarkable. I am most happy to see
that hundreds of leaders have evolved in this process… which I believe is the true
success of all the training and hard work which has gone in so far…. While I must
specially acknowledge the efforts and contribution of our training team led by District
peace. Rotarians work every day to make the world
a better place.
We have all come to Rotary for different reasons, but
we have stayed in Rotary because it has brought out
the best in us. It has shown us the value of integrity,
compassion, and dedication, and in Rotary, we now
have family members around the world. In short,
Rotary has made us better people —
people who want to make a difference. Rotary has
been a gift to each of us.
This year, we will give that gift to others. Whether that
is through participation in a National Immunization
Day, a strategic partnership funded by a Rotary
grant, an invitation issued to someone to join Rotary,
or a simple act of goodwill, we will continue to share
Rotary’s good work with people around the globe. In
telling our Rotary stories, we will tell others about the
many ways that Rotary has given us a legacy that
lasts.
I look forward to the great work we will do together in
Rotary this year, as we strive to Be a Gift to the World.

2015-16… PEAK 15 NEWS.
Personally, as your leader for the upcoming Rotary Year… I
assure you that I shall leave no stone unturned in our efforts
to take Rotary further in the year. I have always believed
that the life is all about value creation, value addition, and
the corner.
Our thrust area projects like TB Eradication, SUKHADA WinS, SERVICE 15, Drinking
Water First, Rotary Gram Kalyan, Literacy Mission… all will ensure that the Rotarians
will be engaged in some highly meaningful and constructive community service. We
shall maintain a special focus on membership development and retention, Public
Image and PR, and of course will do our best to support The Rotary Foundation.
Thanks to all my teams who are a backbone support to make this all happen….
College of Governors, Advisors, Core Team, Assistant Governors, Trainers, Avenue

Subhash Kulkarni
District Governor
Dear DG Subhash & Friends of RI Dist. 3140
RIPE Ravi has given us a wonderful theme – BE A GIFT TO THE WORLD.
I am happy to be Director under Ravi’s leadership. As you know, he is focused on Strategic Plan. I will be visiting all the
Districts to see how effectively you are addressing Strategic Plan. Vision 20:20 Seminar will be the highlight of 2015-16.
Senior Leadership of India has decided Literacy and WinS (Wash in Schools) Project as the goal for India. Just imagine,
what an impact 10,000 Toilet Block can create in making Happy Schools! In turn it would increase Membership and give
tremendous Public Image. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi appreciated our commitment. Now it is our time to prove
our action just as we did in Polio Plus – may be with more speed.
Sharmishtha joins me in wishing you all the very best as you BE A GIFT TO THE WORLD.
Dr. Manoj Desai
