Governor Speaks First Lady Speaks Dear Fellow Rotarians, My Dear Family, The PEAK 15 Year has rolled out… and in style. The DG installation function on 28th June was attended by over 600 Rotarians and families, with RI Director Dr. Manoj Desai as the Chief Guest. The function depicted quality and hospitality, looked after by Team Mumbai Parleshwar along with Core Team, was crisp and well conducted. Commitments to the tune of USD 1 Million were made by Rotarians and clubs. Indeed a history in itself. Dr. Manoj Desai congratulated RI District 3140 for its continued role as the leading district of Rotary world, and exhorted the Rotarians to do something extraordinary in the Grand Finale year of district. On 1st July, a massive Blood Donation Drive “ Drop of Hope “ was organized across the district… with Rotaractors and Inner Wheel members as partners. Around 4373 bottles of blood collected, nearly 4500 Rotarians and partners worked on the ground level, at 15 major railway stations, at hospitals, colleges etc… nearly 5 million plus population saw Rotary in action in one single day. In yet another historic event in itself, our first toilet block under Sukhada – WinS thrust area was inaugurated at Gurukul Vidyapith School at Thane, on 30th June. It was inaugurated at the hands of the DG along with the local MLA Sh. Sanjay Kelkar, in presence of Sukhada Team, Rotarians, school officials and students. A great achievement indeed. The season of club installations is now about to conclude… I had the privilege to attend many… and I feel very happy to see our Presidents so motivated, enlightened and eager to perform. Friends… August is the Membership Month… we need to see maximum activity in this avenue during this month. Please admit new members during this period… we hope to launch few new clubs also during August. Our teams are going to make a strong and motivated effort… please be a part of this. We will do our best to create history on Membership Growth as well. In the meanwhile…. The District Picnic on 8th and 9th August to Radisson Blue Resort Alibaug is going to the much needed retreat… looking forward for that as well. Well begun my friends… as we march towards the final peak…. PEAK 15. Warm Regards, Subhash Rotary Since 1st June & till 1st August we both have been visiting clubs for installations. In my opinion it's an opportunity to meet the Rotarians…Greet outgoing Presidents, congratulate them and greet and wish incoming President. I have attended all installations with Subhash & have enjoyed a lot with each and every Rotarian in District 3140. Could feel the warmth, friendship, concern and love showered by Rotarians and their families. I have met many Anns working silently behind their spouses…offering every help they needed. Enjoying every bit of their installation and could read the pride in her or his eyes for their spouse. I love attending Rotary meetings with Subhash. Now there is a hidden reason behind it..I get to spend lot more time with him on the way. To reach the venue on time, we provide some time for traffic and invariably reach early. And now… having to spend about half an hour each time… we have discovered lots of JOY POINTS around city and suburbs….where we halt and have a cutting chai, a sandwich, maybe a paratha, dosa. Relished a bhutta in the rainy weather….a selfie for our kids on which they enjoyed a lot. Best is we really look odd in the crowds around… being little formally dressed…but we enjoy that as well. Rotary has given the blessing from Rotarians and Families..and a chance to enjoy our life in best possible ways. Love to all my friends in Rotary. Best Wishes Swati Congratulations DT Dr. Balkrishna Inamdar has been appointed as the Chairman for Governors Review Meet for the Rotary Institute scheduled between 18-20 December 2015 at Jaipur
