Every room needs its finishing touches , and when it comes to accessorizing , my go-to is my good friend Jane Browne of Assemblage . Jane combines her eye for beauty and elegance to pull together a curated collection that tells the story of the homeowner .
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Susan Keesler was born into a family of creatives . At a young age , she started following her grandmother and aunt around flea markets , inheriting the ability to spot quality at a good price . Another aunt traveled the world , bringing home treasures . Susan ’ s mother brought color into the home through her Italian cuisine , and her father through his vegetable garden . She can ’ t remember a time when she wasn ’ t perusing design magazines . Almost 15 years ago , Susan started working with Kate Newman of K . Interiors . “ Kate taught me so much ,” says Susan , “ and although I began my own design firm , we continue to share a design space and collaborate with other designers in the office .” Susan ’ s goal as a designer is to consider the client ’ s home and ensure that their space reflects the family that lives there . At the end of the day , the best part of Susan ’ s job is the dear friends she meets through the process . Susan ’ s own home is a lot like her personal style : casual and relaxed , cohesive and collectible . She loves to layer the old with the new — think vintage meets antique marries modern . She enjoys playing with color , pattern , and texture and incorporating natural light and indoor plants .
