With that said, we have been working
on our Richmond issue for a while and
are so excited about it. By chance I met
interior designer Janie Molster last sum-
mer as our kids were in college orien-
tation together. I fell in love with her
immediately! She is so incredibly tal-
ented in being able to expertly mix the
old and the new with incredible pops
of color. The Fan District home that she
designed is a feast for the eyes.
I was especially intrigued with the
landscape we are featuring by designer
Marcia Fryer. When I think of Rich-
mond, I see lush old gardens with
boxwoods and hydrangeas. This is a
completely renovated mid-century
modern house with a garden and pool
designed for entertaining. The contem-
porary design pairs perfectly with the
house while still reflecting the history
of the area in the plant material.
This issue, for the first time, we part-
nered with Charlotte fine jeweler
Elizabeth Bruns, Inc. to provide the
china, silver, and crystal for our fea-
tured table settings. The only way I
can describe it is stunning! Tamberlyn
Dobrowski, our entertaining editor,
pulls together a fabulous intimate
lunch that is absolutely delicious.
The asparagus soup is to-die-for, and
we were so grateful to Jenny Joyner
for letting us commandeer her home
for the day.
I hope this issue comes at a time when
you can sit down and relax with a cup
of tea or glass of wine and forget our
collective worries for a bit. I am send-
ing my love and prayers to all of you
to stay safe.
