Even though it is only early March, spring has already sprung. After one of the warmest winters in recent memory, the daffodils, azaleas and Lenten rose are all in bloom. Looking out my office window, I can see the cherry tree is getting ready to pop any day— and only a month early. Interesting times!

This issue focuses on the beautiful city of Birmingham. This once sleepy Southern town has blossomed into a city that boasts chic stores, amazing restaurants and a cool art scene. While still considered a great place to raise kids with a very low cost of living, Birmingham has transformed itself into a hip town with an eclectic vibe.
Frank Stitt, a nationally renowned chef, calls Birmingham his home and has some of the best restaurants in town. Our entertaining editor, Tamberlyn Dobrowski, worked with his group to create a delicious spring menu for our readers.
