Even though it is only early March , spring has already sprung . After one of the warmest winters in recent memory , the daffodils , azaleas and Lenten rose are all in bloom . Looking out my office window , I can see the cherry tree is getting ready to pop any day — and only a month early . Interesting times !

While still considered a great place to raise kids with a very low cost of living , Birmingham has transformed itself into a hip town with an eclectic vibe .
Frank Stitt , a nationally renowned chef , calls Birmingham his home and has some of the best restaurants in town . Our entertaining editor , Tamberlyn Dobrowski , worked with his group to create a delicious spring menu for our readers .
