As you approach the traditional home
of painted Savannah gray brick, the
parking court is surrounded by a
formal garden of clipped boxwood
hedges and fig ivy climbing on the
walls. Perennials, located inside the
hedges, lend color and texture to the
garden. Two loquat trees flank the

front of the house—their ornamental
shape and beautiful orange fruit stand
out within the winter garden. Citrus
is often used in the gardens of this
area, and “while lemons and limes
might suffer a little cold damage,”
shares Jennifer, “they do quite well as
fruiting options.”
