Editor’s Page Blair Farris Photo by Jessica Milligan I am so thrilled to finally be able to feature my hometown of Austin, Texas! So much has changed since I grew up there and attended the University of Texas, but many things have stayed the same, like great Mexican food, amazing live music every night of the week and Allens Boots on Congress. There are definitely some perks to being one of the fastest growing cities in America—the food scene has exploded with over-the-top restaurants like Uchi, Dai Due and Lenoir. Food trucks are flourishing, and stylish boutiques have popped up in many neighborhoods. But with all of these changes, somehow Austin has continued to “stay weird.” Maybe it’s the vibrant mix of college kids, homeless folks, politicians, musicians, hippies, foodies, socialites and celebrities living next door to each other that has kept it so eclectic, or maybe it’s that people who are eclectic flock here. Who knows? Clearly I am biased, but Austin is one of the most interesting and happening cities around. Margarita La Condesa…one of my favorites. 2 PEACHYTHEMAGAZINE.COM
