Even if politics isn’t your thing, our
nation’s capital is not to be missed.
We have visited with our kids over
spring break many times, and I am
always amazed at the abundance
of culture. Washington, DC, is one of
the most interesting cities in the world
that boasts international cuisine,
amazing shopping, beautiful gardens
and some of the best museums in the
country. My favorite restaurant in
DC is Oyamel Cocina Mexicana for the
authentic Mexican cuisine. Everything
is delicious and oh so fresh, and if you
are really wanting an adventure try
the sautéed grasshopper tacos—at
least once. It is close to the museums
and Mall so can be woven into any
packed itinerary.
We have so many wonderful highlights
in this issue. Tamberlyn Dobrowski,
our entertaining editor, partnered
with caterer Leslie Schlernitzauer of
Porcupine Provisions to throw a beautiful garden party. Mother Nature didn’t
cooperate, so we moved out the furniture and brought the party inside.
