My friend Jane Tune and I traveled
to Chicago last November to seek out
North Shore treasures and we were
welcomed with open arms. The air
was frigid and it had started to snow,
which made the warmth and friendliness with which we were greeted all
the more delightful.

And, indeed, we found an abundance
of incredible stories to tell and lively
features to share that range from North
Shore gardening to the trends in Spring
fashion to a conversation with Cindy
Trestman, the wife of Marc Trestman,
head coach of the Chicago Bears.
After an insightful and get-acquainted
chat over lunch with Julia Buckingham
Edelmann, interior designer and owner
of Buckingham Interiors + Design, she
graciously took us to her own home
and to another that she designed.
Julia’s sense of space, color and contrast shines, and she has an ingenious
way of mixing brights with antiques
as well as with modern decor. I am
thrilled to showcase Julia’s designs
and to welcome her as a new friend.
