I always think of Peachy in the summer because we spent so much time
at the beach together as a family. She
would tell us stories about growing up,
cook delicious meals and help us hunt
for seashells in the dunes.

While summer presents a great opportunity to visit New Orleans, the Big
Easy delights any time of year. The
city fascinates residents and visitors
alike due to its many personalities
and historical layers that intertwine
and, for the most part, remain hidden
in this unique and beautiful city. The
French Quarter, home to many of the
visual references for the city, boasts a
street grid untouched since 1718. This
walkable, 13-block area oozes with
interesting sounds, scents, shops and
food. To the northeast is the funky
Faubourg Marigny. The lakeside
boundary marks the historical AfricanAmerican neighborhood of Tremé.
Other areas not to miss are the Central
Business District, the Warehouse District (now known as the Arts District)
and the magical Garden District.
Hop on the streetcar along swanky
St. Charles Avenue to experience much
of New Orleans. And don’t forget the
