with movement. When I design,
I imagine my client (my “muse”)
walking or dancing. I believe my
dresses look better in motion. I’ve
always been a person who loves to
experience a garment, so the feel of
the fabric is super important to me.
In addition to custom dresses, do you have
a ready-to-wear line as well?
I’m currently creating my ready-to-
wear line. I’m taking my time so that
the feel and look represent who I am
as a designer and person. I believe in
luxury, comfort, class, and staying cur-
rent. I can’t wait to launch my line and
have women all over the world enjoy
these comfortable, luxurious gowns.
What goes into a custom-designed dress?
Making a custom dress is one of my
favorite things. In a way, when I meet
with a client it’s like going on a date.
I want to know about my “muse” and
create something she feels is an exten-
sion of her existence. I believe the clothes
you wear say something about who
you are. So when choosing the color,
cut, and fit, every detail matters. I fit my
clients so the garment fits as perfectly as
possible. My clients approve every step
of the process while allowing me to stay
true to my vision. I don’t like to recreate
another designer’s dress or just make
pretty dresses. I want my dresses to say
something with the “muse” not having
to say anything at all.
What materials do you like to use?
I love fabric that drapes beautifully
and allows for interesting shapes. I love
fabric with beautiful tones that feels rich
and luscious. I love fabric that makes
you want to sleep in the garment!
What is your dream commission?
It is my dream to dress Angelina Jolie,
Jennifer Lopez, and Meryl Streep—
essentially powerful woman with
definite styles and strong voices. n
