Washington, D. C.

Our Insiders’ Guide

EAT

Leslie Archer has called Washington, D. C. home since her mid-20s. A native to the area, she grew up just outside the city but was always captivated by its elegance, beauty and rich history. Today, she spends much of her time in her DC art studio, creating large-scale paintings, many of which capture the quintessential DC skyline. Her work can be found in various galleries and studios around the city. While art is her primary focus, Leslie also maintains a connection to her roots in policy, holding a role at a local nonprofit think tank that focuses on economic and social policy research.
Quill & Crumb( in the Great Hall of the Folger Shakespeare Library) The café, designed by Paul Philippe Cret, resembles a 16th century English home’ s gallery. I recommend the chicken salad croissant with the lavender blackberry financier. The library houses original and incredible rare first editions of Shakespeare’ s iconic plays from the 1600s.
