Fall is my favorite time of the year when the temperatures start to drop and the leaves change colors . I had dinner with some girlfriends the other night , and it was the first time in a while that we could sit outside and enjoy each other ’ s company with a cool breeze .
I am so excited about featuring Asheville in our fall issue . Asheville , in the North Carolina mountains , has become a wonderful little city with fabulous restaurants , cute shops , and lots of things to do . First and foremost : visit the
Biltmore House and its stunning grounds . George Vanderbilt built the home as a retreat over 130 years ago , and it is truly the most spectacular house in America . I love the piece Bek Mitchell-Kidd wrote on the healing powers of the outdoors . Being out in nature is my happy place .
We feature two completely different Asheville homes designed by the uber-talented Lizzy Summerlin of
LS Interior Design . Check out a chic city condo with gorgeous views and a historic dazzler that has been restored in the Biltmore Forest neighborhood .
