CINNAMON HARVEST SOUR 1 ounce rye whiskey 1 ounce apple brandy ¾ ounce fresh lemon juice Shy ¾ ounce cinnamon syrup ( see box ) Egg white Grated cinnamon
Shake all ingredients without ice , add ice and shake , and strain into glass . Top with grated cinnamon .
Vanilla Syrup
Combine 1 part sugar with 1 part hot water , split a vanilla bean open and leave it in the same container as your syrup . Shake well and let sit overnight . Do not strain . Option : Purchase vanilla syrup online as vanilla beans tend to be expensive .
Honey Syrup Combine 3 parts honey with 1 part hot water ; incorporate and let cool .
Cinnamon Syrup
The easy version is combining 2 parts sugar with 1 part water in a pot , adding about 6 broken / crushed cinnamon sticks , and heating until the sugar is dissolved ( do not boil ). Let it sit overnight and strain out the cinnamon sticks .
