Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is such a
special place, with the majesty of
the Tetons always in sight and the
expanse of the West at your finger-
tips. A few years ago our family drove
across the country for the adventure
of a lifetime. We saw South Dakota’s
Corn Palace, Mount Rushmore and
the Badlands, but our favorite adven-
ture was a backpacking trip through
the Tetons. In the first five minutes
of the hike starting at Jenny Lake in
Jackson, we saw a small black bear
eating grubs out of a stump. I was ter-
rified for the next three days, and the
“mountain margarita” that my hus-
band made with powdered lemonade
and tequila was the best this picky
Texas girl had ever tasted!
Peachy traveled the world and loved
a great adventure whether it was
rafting, a safari or a hot air balloon
ride. Jackson Hole—with its mix of
Old West, celebrities who don’t want
