The Undeniable Benefits of a Plant-Based Diet
5. Eliminate sodas and high-calorie
drinks like sweet tea (regular, diet
and light) from your diet. Replace
these beverages with water, coffee,
green and white teas. Aim to drink
six to eight glasses of filtered,
unbottled water every day.
6. Aim to eat at least one serving
(½ cup) of legumes a day.
7. Aim to eat at least 8–12 servings
(½ cup each) of fruits and vegetables a day.
8. Eat a serving (½ cup) of nuts and
seeds every day.
9. Eat one serving (½ cup) of whole
grains daily.
10. Consider additional supplements
of Vitamin D3 1000 units a day.
Take a Vitamin B12 supplement
if completely eliminating meat.
Take charge and be responsible for
the direction of your health. Be patient.
Change is hard, but any changes you
make today will be noticeable and
appreciated tomorrow. n
