On the Go with Lela Rose
To take kids for a treat : We sit on our stoop with homemade ice cream or head to the High Line and walk the park while eating ice cream from the Chelsea Market .
Day trips with the kids : We bike over to Governors Island quite a lot in the summer . The ferry ride over is magical and the views of the Statue of Liberty are like no other .
Biking through NYC is the best way to be inspired … travel too .
Favorite app or online shopping ? Google . I start with what I want and then seek out more .
Quick weekend getaway : We have a house upstate in Sullivan County ( part of the Catskills ). It reminds me of being at our ranch in Texas . Another favorite spot is The Point in the Adirondacks . It is complete rustic luxury .
Lengthy summer retreat : Jackson Hole , Wyoming .
Seeing artwork and the arts : Galleries and museums are aplenty in New York City . We bike everywhere , so it is easy to drop in on places and not spend too much time . It keeps all of us more interested . n
