THE PAGEANT DRESS
A great amount of time is spent on selecting the perfect pageant dress only to be paired with earrings that do not compliment the dress . The go-to for many contestants is to opt for a pair of silver colored , acrylic , rhinestone earrings . While this option is probably the most budget-friendly , it is the worst option .
When selecting your earrings , you want to select something that compliments the dress . If your dress is say a one-color , jersey-knit dress with minimal rhinestone , you can select earrings that are a bit over-the-top , with multiple stones . That being said , if your dress is crystal encrusted , you may want to go with a simpler earring .
There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a pageant contestant in a stunning gown and matching earrings . You can find earrings to go with every color pageant dress . Maybe not in your local store , but definitely at an online shop .
Here are my suggestions for the color of earrings that pair well with certain color dresses .
THE WHITE DRESS
For a white dress , I only recommend a white , or silver earring . The stones should be of a higher quality to get maximum shine . Under good lighting , a white dress will appear as white as snow and the earrings will dance under the lights .
THE PASTEL DRESS
For pastel dresses , I like the AB stone earring . Be aware that there are different shades of AB stones that are more appropriate for a darker color dress . This stone will catch the colors of the dress and take on the more prominent color .
However , I will always favor earrings that match the dress .
THE RED DRESS
Hands down , a red dress paired with red earrings is a winner . Just make sure to get the correct color red earring . Nothing looks worse than a dark red dress with wine colored earrings .
THE DARK DRESS
You have to be careful here because this is the one time where wearing matching earrings is not the preferred choice . A navy dress with navy earrings can be drab and too dark . This is where the silver earring comes in handy . It will help to balance out the color and brighten the face . 19
