PDA 150TH ANNIVERSARY
As our seventh editor , Dr . Marvin Sniderman , wrote in his January / February 1983 editorial (“ Dental Journalism – Then and Now ”):
“ We should be especially proud in Pennsylvania to have one of the longest continuously published state journals in the country . It is indeed a tribute to the officers and leaders of our profession to have had the foresight to begin our publication . And as we complete 50 continuous years we salute the officers and trustees who have given us guidance , and especially the editors who have faithfully kept the PDA Journal going … Let us hope that 50 years from now , those who follow us will keep the faith .”
Dr . Thomas Gamba , PDA President 2008-2009
I first got involved with PDA because of my dad – he was a dentist and always stressed with me the importance of giving something back to the profession , because it has treated us so well . As a matter of fact , my dad and I along with the Lathrops were the only fathers and sons to be Presidents of the PDA .
