Glenside ATC Students

Receive Personal Safety Advice

Students of Glenside Adult Training Centre received some vital tips on personal safety from PSNI's Crime Prevention Officer, Rumena K McCabe, who provided valuable advice from handling threats to personal safety. The programme raised awareness about crime and community safety.

The students completed a module on keeping themselves safe and had the opportunity to talk through situations and discuss methods of dealing with threats.

PCSP Manager with Derry City and Strabane District Council, Vanessa Russell, who attended the event, said it had been an extremely helpful session in terms of raising public awareness.

"This was a very interactive, informal event and it was a great opportunity to engage with local students and help to address some of their concerns," she said.

"We had some really productive feedback from the participants which will help us to focus our future efforts in addressing the concerns of the local community in dealing with crime. It was a great opportunity to make people aware of the risks and best equip them to deal with certain situations."

Students were presentated with a personal safety pack which included peronsal security products.
