It ’ s the Merry Month of May !
Prescott Valley Days is behind us but that a celebration we had ! Thank you to great new partnerships that made it a fun and exciting weekend . We especially enjoyed working with Salute to Heroes making it an even more diverse festival . Cheers to all !
May brings our annual Team Up to Clean Up and Battle of the Bands . Team Up is our town wide cleanup and special dump day held on May 7 . If you have any old stuff you have been waiting to get rid of , now is the time . The dump location is on Valley Rd . near the water treatment plant . For a very nominal fee you can “ spring clean ” your garage , yard or house . The community clean up starts at 9 at the Chamber office . For a couple of hours you pick up trash and then come back for a great hot dog lunch and pizza from Papa John ’ s . We are celebrating 20 years as being the cleanest town in Arizona .
Battle of the Bands , our fabulous outdoor concert event is May 21 . We have the best in rock and roll , country and classic bands participating at Mountain Valley Park all day long . Gates open at 12 and first band is on at 1 . Admission is only $ 4 , children under 3 and active military are free . Dance in the grass to the best bands in the Quad cities and Arizona .
I was so honored to be an finalist in Prescott Area Leadership ’ s Woman of the Year . And congratulations to our own Mayor Harvey Skoog for his recognition as Man of the Year . So many wonderful people and youth doing great things in our communities .
