Our SUMMER READING ACTIVITIES are in full swing . As the kids continue to read through the summer , we invite them to come in for our fun programs ! All Reading Time Tickets must be turned in to the library by Saturday , July 22 : 2:00pm . Kids who read at least 15 hours during the program will be invited to the Pizza Party at the end of the program . Please stop in the library or call 928-632-5049 to sign up for activities !
RONALD McDONALD is coming to the library to share the joys of reading using jokes , magic , and laughter on Tuesday , July 11 : 1:00 – 2:00pm . Please register in advance for this fun activity . On Tuesday , July 18 : 1:00 – 2:00pm , the library is pleased to have STICKS & TONES presenting their musical talents to the kids . The musical duo will be bringing their percussion instruments to have the kids play along with them during their “ Build a Better World ” program . Please register in advance . In addition to the kidʼs reading program , the library has some great activities lined up for the kids as well ! Please stop in the library or call 928-632-5049 to sign up for activities !
The BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP will have its monthly meeting on Tuesday , July 11 : 9:30 – 10 : 45am . The group is reading , When Breath Becomes Air , by Paul Kalanithi . This memoir details the trials of the author , who is on the cusp of completing his training to become a neurosurgeon . Suddenly learning he has stage IV lung cancer , his life suddenly changes from saving the lives of others in the future to fighting for his own life in the present . This book brings out the struggles to live and what the meaning of life truly is . The library has copies of the book available for checkout . So , come in to the library to pick up a copy of the book , and then come for the discussion . There will be light refreshments . Call the library , 928-632-5049 , for more information .
Do you like to get books “ hot off-the-press ?” The Friends of the Library are having a SILENT BOOK AUCTION on Thursdays in July , 1:00 – 5:00pm . Up for auction is a book being newly published in August 2017 , Jonathan Kellerman and Jesse Kellermanʼs book Crime Scene . You can win . The minimum starting bid is $ 10 . Your bid will help support the libraryʼs diverse programs and activities . Win this book ! Every Thursday : 1:00 – 5:00 pm , the Friends of the Library are having a continuing “ featured ” BOOK SALE , downstairs in the JW Mitchell Room at the library . Each Thursday , a new selection of gift-quality books will be on display for purchase . Most hardback books are $ 1.00 or more . Most paperback books are $ 0.25 or higher ( Romance and Western paperbacks are only $ 0.10 each ) with the larger “ Trade ” paperbacks starting at $ 0.50 per book . DVD movies , audio books , and coffee table style books are priced at $ 2.00 or more . We have books for kids and teens ! All prices are as marked . Come back each Thursday to find new items to add to your personal library collection !

FANS OF CULTDOM , an activity where you can enjoy movies and TV shows from a variety of different genres including science fiction , action , suspense , mystery , horror , and comedy , will be held on Saturday , July 1 : 1:00 – 3:30pm .
