NEWS FROM THE OFFICE
SCAMMERS
Board member Donna Chisum was contacted by a
scammer, through email, who was pretending to be Bob
Heise, President of the POA Board. The scammer said
he needed three $100 gift cards from Home Depot as
soon as possible. Donna became suspicious, realizing
the POA does not operate in this manner, and she called
Bob Heise to question the email. Bob said he never sent
such an email and said it must be a scammer.
These people are out there pretending to be your child,
grandchild, friend, long lost relative or any other ac-
quaintance. Anyone asking you for money by phone,
text or email, most likely, is not who they pretend to be.
They will ask for a money order, cashier’s check, Pay-
pal, Western Union, Prepaid debit card, gift card or any
other form of payment. Don’t fall for it! The elderly are
especially vulnerable to these scammers. Please pass the
word around.
I will be going on vacation from July 26 through Au-
gust 12 and will be back in the office on August 13. The
office will be open while I am gone.
