For ages singles have been plagued with the dreaded sense of humility and anguish which comes from spending year after year alone on what's been known as "Valentine's Day." The agony of being reminded of just how lonely single life is has driven many to protest and challenge the conventional meaning of "Lover's Day." This year singles are reportedly fighting back against tradition and creating some of their own.
We spoke to some of our social media followers and asked singles across the country how they planned to spend Valentine's Day. The creative responses we received were overwhelming. Singles have plans to take a new approach to the holiday that will leave you thinking twice about shunning the controversial day this year.
Erica from Atlanta, Ga says, "I've been single now for three years since my divorce, and I can admit Valentine's has always been a time I've found it most difficult to be single. But this year, two of my single friends and I are planning a weekend getaway to Cancun. Who knows, maybe I'll channel my inner Stella and finally get my groove back."
what's love got to do with it?
