RAM

Storage is also another very important part of the machine. You have the choice between a HDD or SSD, or both if you have the money to spare. They both basically do the same thing, store your data, but an SSD has no moving parts unlike a HDD that reads the data from a spinning disk within the drive. So if you are purchasing an HHD you are getting more real estate but slower transfer rates and read/ write speeds, but its much cheaper than buying SSD's. This is why many people use an SSD for their main boot up drive and then place all of thir storage heavy files on secodary HHD

These, again, are all preference. There is an endless selection of things you can purchase for your PC. Its important that you get a mouse and a keyboard at a minimum, but if youre gaming a headset is going to be important as well unless youre going to be using a different output for your sound. A lot of motherboard BIOS interfaces now use mouse ontrol instead of keyboard as a method of input to make the motherboad easier to navigate and customise, this is why its now pretty much necessary to obtain a mouse in order to set your system up.

This is usually intergrated into the motherboard if you have purchased one recently. If not then a sound card is probably going to be required for you to process sound and output it into anaudio device. Sound cards can also be plaed in machines with intergrated sound processing. Sound cards are made for the specific reason of processing sound so they will provid a much higher quality audio when playing video games, listening to music, and watchn films. But, again, this device is definitely not necessary and wont mak any signficant diffrence to the average user.

It's important when choosing RAM to look at your motherboards spe cification. Every motherbord will only accept one RAM memory type, for example: DDR, SDRAM, DRAM. All with endless model variationscompatable with all different systems. DDR ram doubles the rate of SD ram by working in parallel and transferring the daa on the up and down tick of a clock cycle. DDR ram is usually used in desktop computers as its a larger piece of memory and obviously moe powerful. SDRAM is usually used in laptops as its a rather old technology and its slowly being replaced by DDR memory. Its also important when choosing size, 4GB will be good for everyday browsing but for the average gamer 8GB is becomin the minimum.
