BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION Scott Perry Firm/Employer: Murray Guari Trial Attorneys Law School: University of Miami Year admitted to practice: 2012 Year joined PBCBA: 2012 I have been active in the Palm Beach County Bar Association since I first started practicing law and believe strongly in giving back to our legal community. Currently, I am the President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, which affords me both the opportunity to serve and help better the profession for younger attorneys but also the ability to sit on the Board of Directors for the Palm Beach County Bar. Additionally, I have served on the Professionalism Committee since 2015, the Circuit Civil Committee since 2017, served on the PI/Wrongful Death Committee from 2015-2017, and have been a co-chair for Bench Bar three times (2015/16; 2016/17 for Personal Injury and 2019/20 for Young Lawyers). Through all of these committees and the Young Lawyers Section I have learned how to work towards the goal of making the Bar and the profession a better place – which requires multiple perspectives and the ability to voice those perspectives. I believe it is through my years of service and focus on what is right for the Bar and its members that makes me an ideal candidate for a spot on the Board of Directors where I can continue to help the Palm Beach County Bar a leader in the State and the County. Jack Rice Firm/Employer: Nason, Yeager, Gerson, Harris & Fumero, P.A. Law School: Florida Coastal School of Law Year admitted to practice: 2012 Year joined PBCBA: 2010 I’ve been a member of the Palm Beach County Bar Association since before graduating law school and have had the privilege of serving on its Board of Directors for the past two years. Previously, I served on the Board as President of the Young Lawyers Section. Last year, I was fortunate to be elected to the Board of Directors and hope to continue serving my hometown legal community in this capacity. I want to continue working with the Board to increase the value of membership for all members of our legal community, especially, young attorneys and legal service, government, and transactional practitioners that might not otherwise become involved, and give back to an organization of incredible individuals that has given so much to me. During the past year, I’ve served as Past President of YLS, and worked with a small group of local government attorneys to revitalize PBCBA’s Local Government & Land Use Law Committee, something you’ll hear more about in the coming months. My experience with PBCBA began as a participant in the Committee for Diversity & Inclusion’s Diversity Internship Program and grew to involvement in multiple sections and committees, including the Professionalism Committee, Environmental Law & Land Use Committee and YLS. Through this involvement, I’ve enjoyed working on a wide variety of projects such as the New Attorneys Breakfast, Past Presidents Reception, and annual YLS 5k run/walk, to strengthen relationships between all of our members. I hope to continue serving on the Board to contribute to our legal community and appreciate your consideration. PALMBEACHBAR.ORG 21
