November 12, 2015 Volleyball Season Highlights The volleyball team went 20-16 on the season and finished third in the Delta League standings. The Troubadours advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs, advancing to the quarterfinals under veteran coach Alynn Wright. Ashlynn Fresques ’16 joined Kelsey Grover ’17 and Claire Schutz ’17 on the all-league team. November 11, 2015 Tennis Season Highlights The tennis team advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals and won the Delta League title with a 15-2 overall record under head coach Kristi Spector, including an 11-1 Delta League mark to finish tied for first with Franklin. It was the first league title since 2012. Avery Spector ’16 was named the Delta League Most Valuable Player by a vote of the coaches and earned all-league honors for the third consecutive season. 11.6.15  Mass of Remembrance The St. Francis Choir shared their talents and love of God with others when performing during the Mass of Remembrance at Jesuit High School. 11.6.15  Dia De Los Muertos Altars Dia De Los Muertos, commonly known as Day of the Dead, focuses on the gathering of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have passed, to help support their spiritual journey. Our Spanish 3 students built ofrendas, or altars, and decorated them using traditional sugar skulls, marigold flowers, and photos. 11.7.15  Fall Parent Retreat Parents’ Guild offered a two-hour retreat for parents to reflect, pray and find faith-filled support for the joys and challenges of raising a teenager. SFHS Athletic Director Mark McGreevy and his wife Cassy facilitated the retreat. 11.10.15  Veterans’ Day Prayer Service We gathered around our nation’s flag in Serra Court to honor our Veterans both near and far. A prayer service was prepared by our Patriots Club, and the A Cappella Blue Skirts sang the National Anthem. 11.10.15  Prospective Parent Shadow Day More than 100 prospective parents came to SFHS to talk to campus leadership about the investment in a St. Francis education. With classroom observations and a Q&A with students, parents left well prepared to help their daughters make that important high school decision. 11.11.15  NLI Signing Day Thirteen St. Francis Troubadours participated in the Fall National Letter-of-Intent and College Commitment Celebration. Ariane Arndt, who will attend UC-Berkeley out of the Pac-12 Conference, headlined a class representing seven sports committing to 12 different schools.
