JACK AGE 15
SYDNEY, NSW
Jack Russell
My Jacky died suddenly of cancer
yesterday (25/1/14). I adopted him
when he was 12 and already had
terminal cancer. He was such an
amazingly strong dog and always so
full of life and energy. Although the
vet told us he wouldn't live more
than a year, he outlived it and kept
fighting. He never showed any signs
of pain or discomfort despite the
fact that his tumours were
developing and he had one the size
of a big golf ball on his leg. He was
always so happy and cute, he'd
sprint around the house and loved
his food! I have so many memories
of him nibbling on everything, how
his gums would get sticky, and one
side of his lip would get stuck. The
little funny noises he would make
when he was hungry and how he
would follow me around for a slice
of cheese.

SHe'd sit up next to me in the park
just to be close to me and hold up
his paw so I could pick the bindis
out. He'd sleep on the end of my
bed at the beach house and his
small feet would get stuck in the
sand.I'd come downstairs and he'd
already be lying on his blanky,
ready for bed at 9pm. He would
kick and squirm if someone tried to
pick him up and he'd jump up the
stairs with his little legs after a
walk. I loved everything about him,
all his quirks and flaws, everything.
He was my world and I feel
absolutely
heartbroken
and
shattered that he's gone. But
although I miss him and I would
give anything to have him back, I
know that he lived a long and
extremely happy life. :') I love you
and miss you so much Jacky Bear,
you'll always be my best friend in
life and in death
