Since I got back to school on the 8th of March, I coincided my Peace Corps 45th Anniversary celebration with
that of International Women’s Day. The colleagues
enjoyed the flowers, gifts, and homemade carrot cake
along with some information and samples of work I’d
been doing with my students.
I had donated a set of Britannica Encyclopedias for the
school, watched the Kindergarteners put on a program
for their Moms (their teachers also enjoyed some carrot
cake.), and I had a good discussion with the kitchen staff
as I ate breakfast. (They liked the carrot cake too.)
It ended up being one of the longest pauzas between
classes we had. Ok, so we were a little late. At least the
students were occupied reading the latest letters from
their pen pals.
