his is the final issue of Pauza from the MAK 13 staff. We would like to thank all of you for reading and for writing. The
magazine would not exist without your articles and photos. We hope you have enjoyed the last several issues. At this point,
we would also like to introduce you to the new MAK 14 staff who will be taking our places. Ellen Rhudy will be acting as the

Krusevo Freedom 5k

A

s you know, August 2nd marks an important day in Macedonia’s
history. In 1903, there was a 10-day uprising against the Ottoman
Turks in which Macedonia fought to become a republic. Krusevo, the
site of the major defensive line, is revered as one of Macedonia’s most
important historic towns. Each year, people come from all over the
region to commemorate this important day in this country’s history.
This year, in addition to the Ilinden, the Municipality of Krusevo and
Peace Corps volunteers have something else to celebrate: the execution
of the 3rd annual Krusevo Freedom 5k.
