Why I am Supposed to Marry a Macedonian?

Every nation is a nation of proud people. I have never heard of someone who was ashamed of the country they came from. There
may be problems, they may complain, they may choose not to live there. But they are still proud. Macedonians are clearly no exception. However, this made me wonder why Macedonians are so zealous to marry their men off with me. Never have I been so
thoroughly (if not teasingly) rushed to tie the knot. Indeed my own grandmother doesn’t push that much. Even the families who
spend more time complaining about Macedonia and its problems than heralding its attributes will tell me I will marry a Macedonian.
I usually thought that people, especially proud ones, were not especially keen on mixing. So for such a proud people why would
they encourage this intermingling?
