Activities : Students made cards and origami flowers to give to their mothers , sisters and babas .
Students wrote on a piece of paper ( taped to each other ’ s backs ) what they liked about each person . This taught the students about appreciation ( activity suggested by the Gender and Development Committee ).
Highlights : Seeing how much these children love their mothers .
Language blooper : When asked to describe their mothers , one child ’ s attempt to say “ gentleness ” in English , came out as “ genitalness .”
Lessons Learned : This project taught the children how to show appreciation .
