FROM THE
EDITOR:
Dear Readers,
It has been very interesting overseeing the
production of this issue of Pauza. The transition
from the previous group of editors to the new group
has gone very smoothly. I would like to thank David
Fox for all his help, and I would also like to thank
Dao Tran, Aryn Bloodworth, Sofia Harwell, Lotus
Yu and Anne Schillig for being such a great group to
work with. If Pauza does continue, I know they will
manage it beautifully.
I say if, because it seems likely this will be the last
issue, at least for a while. I find that unfortunate,
because I have enjoyed reading, contributing to and
editing Pauza for almost two years now, and it was
around long before I was here, but, for a variety of
reasons, that seems to be the case.
Whether or not Pauza continues, this will be my last
issue. It’s been on my list of projects long enough, so
this is goodbye from me.
It is also time to say goodbye to Jim Carl. We
have all benefited greatly from his intelligence and
efficiency and helpfulness, and we have all enjoyed
his humor. We will miss you, Jim, and we have
included some farewell wishes for you here.
We also have some travel tips, some pure
entertainment, some glimpses of our lives as PCVs
in Macedonia, and some great photographs. I hope
you enjoy them all.
