Teacher Feature! “Take a Walk in my Shoes” by Mrs. Casale, Media Specialist Take a walk in my shoes then maybe you’ll see There's not much difference between you and me. I’m good with numbers. I’m a wizard with words. I’m TOO smart, just one of the nerds. I joke, joke, joke, but it’s really an act. Sometimes I wonder if my brain has been hacked. I can score touchdowns. I’m great with a ball. I’m a Sports Superstar who feels like nothing at all. I spread stories. I know they are mean. I think maybe I do it, just to be seen. Take a walk in my shoes then maybe you’ll see There's not much difference between you and me. I’m always tired. Sometimes I’m weak. Sometimes I’m lonely and don’t want to speak. I have too much homework! I have too much stress! I check social media to feel better...I guess. I’m alone in a group. I wear a disguise. I even believe some of my very own lies. Sometimes I cry under covers at night. I want to do better! I want to do right! Take a walk in my shoes pick me up if I fall. I can’t be the only one who feels like nothing at all. Take a walk in my shoes before you judge how I act. Can you try to see ME before you think it’s a fact? Take a walk in my shoes. I am YOU! You are ME!
