sisters never forgotten, right?”.“ Yes, never forgotten.” I answered her. I returned home slumping down as I walked staring at the floor. The air was cold, and the sky was grey, like the world telling me“ I’ m here for you, I feel you.”. My house was chaos. People running up and down and all around the house. My mom was yelling at everyone to be faster. Of course she was already pack, she had been planning to leave for a while now. I quickly packed what was left on my desk and bed. Everything else was empty. I never owned much; I mean there’ s seven people living under one roof at least I had my own room even if it felt like a closet. My mom was driving our moving van to Connecticut with the furniture and less necessary items. My oldest sister Alexis was in charge of us, but she had help from Xander my older brother. I was old enough to take care of myself while the older kids took care of the terror twins. The station was disgusting, people everywhere, children screaming at least the ride was soon. The train was warm, and I felt happier just listening to my music and staring at the scenery as the train buzzed by. When at our destination it was smaller, less people. It felt calmer. The train station we were at was in Windsor Locks a nearby town.“ Well have to walk the rest of the way.” Alexis told us.“ No, the house is ten minutes away and that’ s by car.” Xander stated.“ Unless you have money for an Uber were walking.” She replied. My legs ached in pain, and I was carrying Faylie on my back as we walked to the house, I felt like I could snap apart right there. Once we were home, Alexis knocked on the door, no answer. I looked for the moving van, nothing. Mom was still in traffic driving here. Luckily the garage was wide open, so we set up sleeping arrangements for the night. So, on the cold muddy concrete we fell asleep for the night.

I woke up freezing cold squished against the wall of the tiny garage. My little sisters tossed and turned and pushed me even closer to the wall. I saw Alexis was up and Xander. They were talking to Mom on the phone. I sat there listening to the conversation then I saw the van pull up around the corner. I gathered my stuff quickly and ran in when the door opened. Then I heard the bone chilling sound of my mother,“ no get back down here Journey, I will tell you your rooms.”. I hear a faint“ ugh” as we were split up between three rooms.“ I will take the master. Faylie, Summerlie the first room on the right. Alexis, you get your own room. And you two will share the far room near the garage. I got the best roommate out of everyone Xander was so sweet and not loud at all. We set up the room to maximize space then unpacked. He loved cars. Old ones especially. I set up my half of the room in a vintage style. It’ s my favorite lots of posters and records, vines and one singular shelf at the head of my bed. There was an old stuffed animal and a friendship bracelet with Sages name. It took all day, but our room looked awesome. We both went to bed with no food at all. Mom was a horrid cook, and we didn’ t have food in the house right now anyway.

It’ s been a few days here and I’ m starting to feel more comfortable in this environment. I found an old book in the attic while exploring. It was tied with a worn ribbon and the pages had a yellow rim. I opened it and was immediately hit by dust. I read the first page. It stated,“ this book is property of Journey Ocean.”. I thought that can’ t be right, because I’ m Journey Ocean. I flipped the page. The date was September 30 th, 1962. I read the first page. Someone named Charlie and the other Journey were going to investigate a house. The owner spoke of paranormal activity in their house. I read a few more days on. The house had a cold bitter feeling, and the basement door was locked shut. Not even the owner could open it. They heard voices and windows open randomly. They made a recording of their talk with the owner. I really wanted to find it, listen to it, and find out what happened to them. I thought about it all day while I did chores, and drawings. I could barley even sleep. Eventually I fell asleep with thoughts racing in my head desperately trying to burst out of my mouth.

I started school today. It was chaos. People were running about the halls; fights went down at every corner. It was exactly what I expected. I did meet someone though; her name is Iris. She helped me to my classes, and I felt comfortable around her. Something about how she treated me and acted felt calming. Although I still didn’ t trust her enough to tell her about my family and the mysterious book I found. I didn’ t always have trust issues. I actually trusted people with my life until my mother told the whole world about the incident. I only trust my older siblings, Sage, and my dad. I came home as normal did chores and homework, then read the book. I was up to October 13 th, and it finally got good. They opened the basement door, and their lives would never be the same. Downstairs was a finished basement with expensive drapes shaping a circle in
