2018-19 Advanced Standing and Transcripted Credit Agreements
Two ways that high school students can earn post-secondary credit
are through advanced standing and transcripted credit course
agreements with NWTC and their high school.
Advanced standing courses are taught by high school teachers
using high school curriculum determined to be a close match to an
NWTC course. A student must earn a “B” or better in the course to
receive advanced standing. Advanced standing courses may allow a
student the opportunity to skip an introductory level course in their
post-secondary program and advance to the next level. Advanced
standing agreements are transferrable to all schools within the
Wisconsin Technical College System.

Pathways to College: A Report to Our PK-12 Partners
Transcripted credit courses are taught by high school teachers
approved by NWTC. NWTC curriculum and assessment methods
are used. Student grades are posted to an official NWTC transcript.
Students must earn a “C” grade for the course in order to receive
NWTC credit, as reflected on their NWTC transcript. Transcripted
credit agreements are transferable to other Wisconsin technical
colleges and may transfer to four-year universities.
