The virus most commonly spreads from an infected person through :
• respiratory droplets generated when you cough or sneeze
• close , prolonged personal contact , such as touching or shaking hands
• touching something with the virus on it , then touching your mouth , nose or eyes before washing your hands

The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to other respiratory illnesses , including the flu and common cold .
Symptoms include :
• Fever
• Chills
• Cough or worsening of chronic cough
• Shortness of breath
• Sore throat
• Runny nose
• Loss of sense of smell or taste
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Diarrhea
• Loss of appetite
• Nausea and vomiting
